Carolien Spoor is a Dutch actress. Born in The Hague in 1987, she made her début on the big screen at the age of eight. She is best known for her roles as Florien Fischer in “Goede tijden, slechte tijden” (Good times, bad times), as Rivka in “Happy End” and as Kimmy de Nijs in the thriller “Loft”.
She came to visit us at Amsterdam Fashion TV and we all fell in love with her cheerful and cheeky playfulness. And I can confirm it: she is really stunning!
We had a long chat about fashion and Carolien’s personal style. She obviously has a real interest in fashion, and was even wearing some boots she designed herself while in Bangkok!
Carolien has a soft spot for Danish and Swedish designers and, when in Amsterdam, she loves shopping in the small boutiques on the Utrechtestraat. Her personal style swings from edgy to classic, bearing in mind Coco Chanel’s advice and never going too heavy on the styling. She likes simple yet well made pieces and matching garments with different textures, like leather with silk or some big knit.
Her personal fashion icon? Actress Marly van der Velden, who is also a personal friend of hers and a great partner on their shopping frenzies in Maastricht.
Carolien recognises the power of fashion in her acting career, and admits clothes can help identify with on screen roles. In the movie “Lieve Celine” (Dear Celine) she played Sue, a gaudy girl with tattoos and a navel piercing. The character couldn’t be further from the real Carolien, so wearing Sue’s tacky outfits really helped her immerse in the role!
