Some people are capable of anything for fame, success, glamor and money. The new film “Bling Ring” by director Sofia Coppola portrays the obsession for fame and luxury in Los Angeles.
Based on a true story, the film tells the story of a group of teenagers with shallow lives and absent parents who, fascinated by the glamorous world of celebrities like Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, begin to carry out burglaries in celebrities’ houses. They are thrilled with the gains, but the thefts soon begin to draw the attention of the authorities, who decide to put a stop to the crimes.
Once arrested one of the gang members said that all they wanted was to have the lifestyle of these celebrities: “It’s the lifestyle we all want to have!” is what they say in the movie.
A book by the same name was also released by American journalist Nancy Jo Sales, her signed the article about the gang titled “The suspects wore Louboutin” published in 2010 on Vanity Fair US.
