How many of you were devastated to hear Loehmann’s closed—after 94 years in business and countless unforgettable fashion hauls by savvy shoppers around the country? Well, here’s to a big “just kidding!” because the legendary retailer is coming back—kind of.
According to WWD via Fashionista, new owners CAK Entertainment will resurrect the legendary retailer in May, but as an online-only shopping site. But the company will be focusing on a more specific target audience.
“Research tells us the younger customer shops online,” CAK founder Charles Koppelman told WWD. “They want to have a dialogue with brands about what they want to see and what brands they want. We are going to talk to them, helping with the product and brand selection. They will tell us what they want and help us with our buying.”
Not sure what that means for the brands and items that Loehmann’s 2.0 will carry, but we’ll find out soon. In the meantime, let’s reminisce about some of the best deals we found at the brick-and-mortar store.
