Before you say, “but Shailene Woodley’s favorite red carpet shoe is no shoes at all,” remember that time she wore those divisive Vibram FiveFinger shoes at a Golden Globes after-party? (Yes, with a dress.) Well, if she’s interested in getting her money back—hey, going barefoot costs less—she might be able to.
Yup, that’s Shailene!
The Washington Post reports that due to a class-action lawsuit, Vibram might offer up to $94 back to anyone who bought the shoes as of March 21, 2009. Why? Well, an unsatisfied customer filed a lawsuit claiming that Vibram “deceived consumers when it claimed, without any scientific backup, that its shoes could decrease foot injuries and strengthen foot muscles.” The company didn’t actually acknowledge or admit any liability, but it’s moving to settle.
Well, Vibram, if it’s any consolation, there’s no arguing that the toe-shoes make for comfy, cozy (if not controversy-inducing) high-heel alternatives on the red carpet.
Sneakers work too!
