Forget the beach and barbecue (OK, well, maybe ‘forget’ is a harsh word), and let’s embrace what Memorial Day weekend is really about: shopping and sales. Whether you’ve got your eye on a leather tufted headboard or those new Brazilian bikini bottoms (it’s on Olivia Munn’s list!), it’s all about knowing how to navigate the plethora of sales, and packing for that weekend getaway. On Saturday, we caught up with uber-stylist Rachel Zoe at the inaugural Super Saturday event in Santa Monica to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund to get her shopping and packing tips for the unofficial start of summer!
Tips for scouting finds at a sale: “Do a walk thru. Do a once-over really fast and see what you like. Then pick your spot and go back to it. If you’re obsessed with something right away, just buy it. Because it won’t be there when you get back. If it’s that good, it will be gone.”
Tips for shopping Memorial Day sales: “Shop online! No, listen, I’m someone that likes to touch and feel it and try it on, so have fun with it and don’t lose your mind. Because it can be overwhelming.”
How to pack for your Memorial Day weekend trip: “Get a cute overnighter bag. Like a big cute duffle that you can shove everything in and leave room for shopping.”
