When Blake Lively hits the red carpet, it’s like KAPOW. The girl is a stunner, bombshell, couture master, and charmer all in one. Plus, she’s been seriously killing it at Cannes (the oxblood Gucci Première gown, the Chanel Couture optical-illusion dress, and then the old-Hollywood glam confection, sigh) and rocking a seriously major coat collection as of late. Because we’re dying to see so much more, we’re crowning Blake the Glamour Style Icon of the Week. Don’t leave us hanging, girl! More, please.
Blake was born to play Upper East Side It Girl Serena van der Woodsen, wasn’t she? Here she was at the Gossip Girl launch party back in 2007 (it’s been that long?!) in an ultra-chic tuxedo suit, which she of course made insanely sexy.
The fashion-crush actress (who doesn’t have a stylist!) caught the eye of the great Karl Lagerfeld, who eventually tapped her to be the face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle handbag line in 2011. But back in 2008 she beamed in an exquisitely tiered dress by the house at a Chanel fine-jewelry event. A precursor of lots more Chanel moments to come.
Sizzle. Blake showed off a whole lotta leg and cleavage in red Versace at the Emmy Awards in 2009.
At the Spike Scream Awards in 2010, the actress opted for a full-on harness-detailed Lanvin ensemble. She styled the look straight-from-the-runway with slicked-back hair, embellished heels, and the double leg-baring pose. I wonder if she held her dress open like that the entire night…regardless, I think this is one of her most memorable looks.
At the 2011 premiere of Green Lantern, Blake wore this beautiful white Chanel Couture gown—which, incidentally, looks very similar to Poppy Delevingne’s custom Chanel wedding gown. But it’s all kind of meant to be since Blake walked the red carpet with future hubby and costar Ryan Reynolds.
And when you don’t think it’s possible for her to be any hotter, this happens. At the Savages premiere in 2012, Blake just stunned, smoldered, NAILED IT in a figure-flattering Zuhair Murad mermaid gown and Veronica Lake waves.
At last year’s punk-themed Met Gala, Blake went rebel (sort of) in a distressed, tiered Gucci gown.
We need one more look at her sultry, glimmering champagne Gucci creation from this year’s Met Ball. That Ryan’s a lucky man, huh?
