Personally, I never got the tennis bug (it was all ballet for me), but I’m the first to admit, accept, and rejoice in the fact that when Wimbledon rolls around, so do some very chic outfit ideas perfect for warm-weather parties and dinners. The weekend saw a lot of tennis action, but I think what happened off the court was what’s really worth checking out.
Kim Sears, girlfriend of tennis ace Andy Murray and owner of a head of hair that can totally compete with Kate Middleton, is a regular attendee. She picked a classic summer staple, but belted her little white dress with pink, adding a sweet touch.
I loved the loose pink floral dress Natalie Dormer picked too. With a drop waist and sleeves that bell out over the elbow, it looks like it’d be comfortable to wear all day in the heat.
The girliest of all came from British musician Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who picked a matching crop-top set in pale pink and, instead of heels or sandals, pointy-toe flats (I love that finishing touch).
And if dresses aren’t your thing, take a page from Ellie Goulding’s book and re-create a simple shorts-and-tee look, but chicer, by swapping out the cotton top for something silky or with sheer sleeves.
