We know loom bands are a big thing—hello, Kate Middleton has worn them—but the latest eBay news out of the U.K. made my mouth drop. A mom in Denbigshire created a simple minidress out of the plastic pieces, listed it to eBay with a snap of her daughter wearing it, and now, with less than 24 hours left in the auction, it’s currently at $290,653 (or £170,100).
I mean, are you also feeling like you left Earth for a quick trip to crazy town? It’s cheerful, and I like how the looms are done in a Missoni-esque chevron pattern, but over a quarter of a million dollars? I can hardly believe this is real. Does anyone have any loom experience? Would this style and design take a long time to create? Is the price tied to her labor?
