I adore being surprised by chic new faces on a red carpet, but I also love seeing a familiar name and knowing it’s going to be good. When I realized that last night’s well-dressed revelers included Emma Stone and Olivia Palermo, I was like “yes, and yes!”
Of course, some other ladies landed on my list as well (including a gymnast!), so without further ado:
Style-wise, it kind of feels like this is the summer we’ll always remember that Nicola Peltz arrived. Nikki took the time to chart all of the glorious glamour she’s been a part of so far, solidifying her position as a total girl crush in our office. How good is this matching Balenciaga short set? Add it to the list, Nikki!
Katharine McPhee also did the whole sexy-sophisticated thing in a matching two-piece, though her Cynthia Rowley set included a full midiskirt and sheer stripes. For jewelry, she picked a Melissa Lovy ring.
Remember when Audrey Tautou rocked your world during the Amélie days? Well, turns out she’s still just as sprightly. Love this crisp white Dolce & Gabbana dress punctuated by cherry red heels.
Unexpected but true: My favorite part of this Lizzy Caplan outfit actually isn’t the stunning Marchesa dress. Turns out I really, really dig her shoe pick: instead of simple pumps, she chose extra strappy sandals. Her earrings are Erickson Beamon for Marchesa.
Um, hi Emma Stone! Fresh red carpet outfits always get me and this one fits the bill. Instead of going with a flirty little frock, the actress chose one that had a high neckline, longsleeves and a longer hemline. Surprisingly, it didn’t feel overpowering or like too much.
Speaking of longer sleeves, I immediately zeroed in on the elbow-length cut of Caitlin Fitzgerald’s bright red dress, which is something we don’t see a ton (but I wish we did!). Props to Caitlin for making sure there was still a big dose of sexy thanks to the plunging neckline.
As expected, Olivia Palermo’s pitch-perfect style hasn’t changed a lick since getting hitched. For the Magic in the Moonlight premiere she went simple with a printed strapless dress belted right at the natural waist. And her accessories killed it— that spotted clutch! Those multi-buckle heels!
Gymnast Nastia Liukin really impressed me in this two-piece white lace number for Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports Award. The material can have so many different vibes (and I love them all), but the layered look of this lace felt especially unique.
