ART MEETS FASHION / FASHION is ART
The TextielMuseum in Tilburg (Holland) is proud to present ‘Artist Textiles. Picasso to Warhol’: a fascinating overview of 20th-century
textile designs from some of the world’s most renowned artists. More than 200 home furnishing and clothing fabrics trace the history of
textile design, with examples from Fauvism, Cubism, Constructivism, Modernism, Surrealism and Pop Art.
MY PARTICIPATION IN THIS CONTEST ‘I Printed.’
The assignment: Design a pattern for a fabric using printing techniques.
For me as a graphic designer and illustrator it is an exciting challenge to design a PATTERN for textile. From a Digital illustration to a print on fabric.
My inspiration to design my PATTERN is Andy Warhol. I love his early fashion drawings in the 1950s, for ‘Harper’s Bazaar’, NBC, Tiffany and ‘Vogue’ for example.
How cool would it be to creatie a dress with this fabric wich i have designed! As you can see in this picture.
