Slipping Bra Straps: Why It Happens and How to Make It Stop

You’ve learned how to say bye bye to back fat because of your bra, but how about those slipping bra straps? Apparently it’s an issue amongst many of our readers, so I contacted ThirdLove co-founder Heidi Zak, to get down to the bottom of why your bra straps are constantly slipping and how to make it stop.

First things first, if you’re unfamiliar with Third Love, read all about their delicate, but affordable, pieces and signature half-cup sizing that’s changing the way women fit into bras.

As for strap slippage, here’s what Heidi has to say, “Many women with narrow or downward sloping shoulders have issues with slipping straps. If you are one of these ladies, you should choose a U-back style like ThirdLove’s lace full coverage bra. The straps are set narrower and the U-shape back connects the straps so that they won’t slip.” A general rule of thumb to keep in mind when shopping for bras is, “the more coverage a cup has, the less straps will slip because as the cup comes up higher on the body the strap sits away from the edge of the shoulder,” advises Heidi.
