With all of the amazingness that surrounds Beyoncé, one thing’s pretty much a given: girlfriend works out and works out hard. As such, her just-announced athletic-inspired collection with Topshop makes all kinds of sense. Sure, she’s not constantly photographed leaving the gym like some stars or always giving interviews about what she does to stay fit, but I’d say it’s a given that her lifestyle and bod require something more than just hanging out at home (and, like everything Bey, I bet it’s a fierce routine).
“I went to her concert in Paris the other week. She’s a great dancer, one of the most hard-working and talented people in the world,” Sir Philip Green, Topshop owner, told WWD. “[She] spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing, and training.”
The collection, still nameless, is tentatively slated to launch next fall and will include a ton of stuff: clothing, shoes, and accessories for any and all fitness endeavors. Ladies who don’t actually like to workout will have items to shop, too, with other items being described as ath-leisure (perfect if you like the aesthetic of gym togs but don’t require any of the actual support).
“We’ve been looking at that sector for awhile,” Green said, referencing the fitness category that we’ve all been shopping like crazy for the past few years. “It’s something we need to be in. Based on what she does, how she works out, the conversation got into that category.”
