Leonard Wong aims to maintain a refined minimalistic elegance which is illimitable to time in an ever changing fashion world.
Leonard Wong was born the 21st of August 1986, Leonard Wong was raised in Shanghai.
Wong is based in Tokyo, Japan. He studied atBunka Fashion Collegeand graduated in 2013. His collections are produced inJapan.
Leonard is of Chinese descent but graduated from Tokyo’s Bunka Fashion Collage with the awards for “Tokyo up coming designer Gran prix 2012”, “The Ministry of Culture award” , “Air France award” and the “Bunka Fashion Collage ladies section award”. Soon after graduation, he established his brand label in Tokyo.
Leonard participated in Milano Salone Tokyo Imagine 2014, and Tokyo Fashion Week 2014 appearing on prestigious Japanese TV channels such as NHK and Nittere.
His designs are currently in the finalists for the Italy Vogue young fashion designer award and has been used for a preview for the up coming movie ”Ghost in the shell”.
“I wish to communicate to the world my view of it through the fashion media. To break out of conformity, I first absorb the traditional styles but always create something new that holds the intricate balance between the two.
Whatever the fabric I use, I want my clothes to be minimalistic but have a strong impact, and to aim for the refined fashion.
Times are changing. It is a never stopping process that develops and metomorphizes. I hold an high regard for tradition, for without it our world would not have grown into what it is now. After absorbing the classical traditions, the future appeared in my mind. A human beings urge for adventure cannot be suppressed, thus I chose to break away from tradition. From the ruins, a sapling can at last grow. A new way of thinking, a new notion, a new world.
