The year’s biggest awards show red carpets are so close, it’s crazy, and tonight we’re off to a very nice start with the People’s Choice Awards. While watching the stars walk, I marveled at just how much black and white there was (and even more when the show started!). Color lovers weren’t left out either—there were some breathtaking brights.
There’s something so refreshingly simple about Ginnifer Goodwin’s easy ivory pick, and I love that it’s got longer sleeves (it’s hard to find that in a dress!). The tea length fits her sweet style personality too, and it’s a nifty cut to show off shoes.
Bellamy Young’s dress is just too cool, honestly. Sheer sleeves would’ve been an amazing touch on their own, but they took things up a notch with a lace insert at the neck and metallic gold and silver chains that start over the shoulder and run all the way down to the wrist. For accessories, she did Eva Fehren and Jennifer Fisher jewelry and carried a Kara Ross clutch.
Oh, Kristen Bell! The hot pink color of this Monique Lhuillier dress basically puts a smile on your face right away, and I love how it floated as she moved. Kristen said it was her first red carpet since welcoming baby No. 2, and it makes for a very strong return.
Portia de Rossi picked a cobalt blue jumpsuit from one of my favorites, Zuhair Murad, and I love everything about it. The color, the sexy-but-subtle cutouts, and the fact that what could’ve easily been done as a gown threw us a curveball with legs instead.
I’m enjoying Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, especially if it means we’ll get to see Lisa Edelstein on the red carpet looking so good! I liked how the sporty racerback neck of this Naeem Khan contrasted against the super-feminine feel of all those white blooms. She wore Paul Andrew shoes and carried a Thale Blanc clutch.
This might just be the most ladylike pantsuit ever created! Ellen Pompeo looked fantastic in the dusty rose color, and the lace pieces and plunging neckline were divine.
Saucy lady, Kat Dennings! I’m a sucker for black lace and love when it goes retro ladylike. She’s a perfect example too, thanks to those floaty short sleeves. For jewelry, she picked Eva Fehren and Luna Skye by Samantha Conn.
Sarah Hyland picked a sparkly gray strapless dress from the guy she goes to a lot: Christian Siriano. I love the color choice (how often do you see the steely neutral done formally?) and that they’ve got such a little fashion partnership going on.
Sophia’s favorite of the night might’ve been Gabrielle Union in purple Honor. The color’s great, and the deep neckline makes a good canvas to show off her lariat necklace.
