The first-ever The Daily Front Row Fashion Los Angeles Awards Show happened last night, and, my, but was it well attended! My calendar’s typically marked up for major red carpets and I’m ready, laptop and takeout dinner in hand (BTW—are you scheduled to come hang with us for Sunday’s SAG Awards?). For its first incarnation, this fashion-focused show had a lot of big names in the audience.
Kerry Washington made an appearance in a black-and-white combo that you might not think would go together but totally does. (Fun fact: She posed with Christian Louboutin on the carpet!).
Doing her typical glam-fabulous thing was Rihanna. I’m not ready to call this number a dress or a coat, but, honestly, I think that unknown makes it even more rad. It’s color-blocked sequins in multiple metallic shades, and even though it’s a fair amount of coverage, it’s beyond steamy since it’s falling off her shoulders (as if she just got up naked from bed and pulled it on).
The night’s Model of the Year award went to Miss Gigi Hadid, and she picked a super-smashing dress to accept it in. Simple shapes in bold bright colors will always look fantastic, and I love that it speaks to the same kind of dresses her super predecessors would have rocked. I can see Cindy Crawford circa any decade in this.
