We all know the red carpet at Sunday’s Oscars is going to be insane (I’ve already rounded up 11 gorgeous gowns I’d love to see there!), but there’s absolutely zero reason to hold your breath until then. The fashion action’s already begun!
The Costume Designers Guild Awards were last night, and Emmy Rossum did her elegant-chic thing so well in this super pale blush Donna Karan Atelier gown that had a train to die for.
Mindy Kaling was also in attendance, and I’m really into this vivid green on her.
I’ve cheered Michelle Monaghan’s style risk-taking before, and here’s another example of how fantastic it really is. I’m sure those swagged sleeves won’t please everyone, but I’m driving the fan bus.
Little Miss Kiernan Shipka did her prim, ladylike-but-age-appropriate thing to perfection at the awards in Oscar de la Renta (psst—the label just debuted its first collection under new designer Peter Copping last night!). She’s wearing Jennifer Meyer jewelry and Brian Atwood shoes, and she’s carrying an Edie Parker clutch.
Meanwhile, Naomi Watts showed some leg in this ruffled white Antonio Berardi mini at Bulgari’s pre-Oscars event.
Oscar nominee Laura Dern was also there, and if this Halston Heritage gown doesn’t remind you of the visual power of perfect ombre, I’m at a loss.
My very favorite look from Vanity Fair‘s Young Hollywood party was this feminine floral pick from model-blogger Doina Ciobanu. Love the monochrome!
