Queen Letizia’s an outfit pro with a whole lot of inspiration to offer up to us working women (I suspect it’s partly due to the fact that before becoming royal, she was a professional with a paycheck). The simple skirt and shirt combo she put together to meet with the Colombian president and his wife is elegant, easy and, best of all, can be recreated with pieces you most likely already own.
Her printed pencil skirt hits right above the knee, and up top she’s tucked in a loose, silky blouse in the same color scheme. It’s every bit as professional as a crisp button-down, but has an ease that’s more comfortable for a busy day. To deal with the early spring weather, she covered up with a simple, tailored black coat that lands just slightly under the knee. For shoes, she did classic nude pumps.
