The tech and style worlds joined hands today and praised the power of good accessories: The Apple watch had its big debut, with further information being revealed about pricing and availability. You can place preorders starting April 10, with items beginning to ship (and hitting stores) on April 24.
There are two sizes and three classes of watch, from the sporty aluminum to the stainless steel to the luxe Edition level that features 18-karat yellow or rose gold and a sapphire crystal face. Prices vary a lot too, starting at $349 and going up to $17,000 for the orange band style pictured here.
Press materials make it sound like there’s a whole bunch this little guy can do beyond the expected email and phone functionality—we’re talking checking in for flights, booking workout classes, and ordering up an Uber. And for the serious fashionistas, there are already accessories for your accessories. A company called Diamondère is making customizable gold bands with your choice of gem (seen below).
