During some of my regular Kate Middleton Web searching, I found a story that fascinated me about the style of her private secretary, Rebecca Deacon. The pulled-together Brit first entered the royal sphere while assisting Prince William with organizing a charity concert for Princess Diana in 2007 and transitioned to working with Kate in 2010, according to Fortune. Part of her work involves attending events with the Duchess, and as such, there are plenty of opportunities to see her stylish outfits.
Her style is a lot like Kate’s, which I’m not surprised by. The understated and tailored vibe works well for professional engagements, and I speak from experience when I say that you start to take on the style of some of your coworkers. This is a shot of Rebecca walking with the royal couple’s nanny, but I actually thought it was Kate when I first saw it.
For a recent day on the job, she picked cropped black trousers, classic pumps, and a printed blazer with the sleeves rolled up. Also, is that the exact same style of shoe or am I imagining things?
The evening gown she picked for a red-carpet event in London was similar to lots of the styles we’ve seen Kate in: a solid color and simple style that cuts in at the waist.
This is my favorite Rebecca outfit, and I’d totally wear it to work myself. The color-blocked sweater dress is a fairly casual shape, but the preppy white button-down layered underneath makes it office-appropriate.
