Sure, prints are a given for spring. From stripes to florals, they certainly add some pop to your outfit. But mixing prints can take your spring outfit up a major notch. Before you knock print mixing, here’s a beginner’s tutorial to get settled into the idea that was once, yes, a major faux pas. The best part, you probably have most elements already in your closet!
Option 1: Go crazy—mix two totally different patterns, just make sure they are composed of similar hues or tried-and-true neutrals. My favorite go-to is florals and stripes, but anything will do as long as you keep an eye on color!
Option 2: If you opt for contrasting colors, make sure the patterns remain in the same family. Whether it’s stripes with stripes or florals with florals, there should be one aspect of consistency between the conflicting pieces.
