Comfort often gets a bad rap in fashion (just ask Karl Lagerfeld or Eva Mendes their thoughts on sweatpants), but comfortable shoes? Well, they get the worst rap—especially when women look so glamorous in pointy, sky-high stilettos). There is a place, however, where comfort does meet chic in the shoe department. The icon we look to: the inimitable, sprightly, and elegant Audrey Hepburn.

Known for her cropped pants and pointy-toe flats, Hepburn owned it and proved you could still be elegant in a pair of flats.
