I just got off of a pretty intense Mad Men binge on Netflix. Of course, the show is revered for its incredible period costumes by the incredible Janie Bryant , but in watching several seasons spanning the decades from the ’50s to the ’70s, there are lots of looks that are totally doable this spring. Let’s take a look:
Peggy’s signature silk neck scarf is a great accessory for work and looks great with a blazer and jeans.
Remember Margaret? OK, now remember her fringed suede poncho? Yes, I want it too. It’s Coachella-meets-Saint Laurent’s spring collection. True, hers is pretty extreme, but you can pull off the suede trend in a way that’s true to your style. Leah’s gaga over suede; see how she’s doing it.
The pussy-bow blouse is all over this spring. I love Dawn’s in yellow topped with a blazer. No update needed. Dawn’s look is perfection.
Ah, Jane Sterling’s knockout moment. The silhouette reminds me of Taylor Swift’s Kaufman Franco dress at the iHeartRadio Awards this weekend. I’m going to step outside my comfort zone this spring and bare a little skin (well, just a little).
