Three more days until the Game of Thrones season premiere! Will Khaleesi get the crown of the seven kingdoms? Will Arya ever find her family? Will Brienne of Tarth find a little stability, finally?
All valid questions. But while we wait in anticipation, let’s talk about style—very, very good style, that is. While the show’s costumes, hair, and makeup are absolutely incredible, it’s hard to imagine what many of the Game of Thrones actors look like in real life. But you’ll see below that the cast’s off-duty style is pretty awesome. Let’s take a look at some of the transformations:
Gwendoline Christie as Brienne of Tarth.
In real life, Gwendoline works pops of color and bold pieces that stand apart into her wardrobe. Standing at an astonishing (and gorgeous!) 6’3″, she wears what she loves with exuberance—high heels and all. No stranger to fashion, Christie, who dates designer Giles Deacon, also models. Her last big gig made waves, as she took to the Vivienne Westwood runway this past London Fashion Week.
Maisie Williams as Arya Stark.
At the tender age of 17, Williams is already showing off her fashion chops (and, of course, her acting chops). Favoring printed dresses and look-at-me accessories, she is a style star on the rise (and check out her adorable Kate Spade frog handbag!).
Natalie Dormer as Margaery Tyrell.
Dormer makes quite the transition in contemporary clothes (well, designer clothes really). Here she is wearing a color-block coat by Roksanda Ilincic. Her red carpet looks go from regal to feminine. She’s definitely experimenting with fashion.
Emilia Clarke as Khaleesi (aka Daenerys Targaryen).
The Mother of Dragons (and this month’s Vogue U.K. cover girl) goes completely chic and relatable in relaxed ripped jeans and so now pointy white pumps. It’s a look we can all be inspired by this spring.
