Pharrell Williams is one of the most famous singers of the pop world scene, besides music producer the boy is worried about the future of the planet.
He became creative director of “Startup” sustainable Bionic Yarn and made a partnership with the UN to promote youth engagement in climate problems that have been going. The company, based in New York manufactures fabrics from plastic bottles thrown in the ocean and announced last year, a greater collaboration with the Dutch brand G-Star Raw. The collection “RAW for the Oceans” was developed with 9 tons of plastic in an attempt to reduce the impact of the material in the oceans, the collection is unisex and we can find jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts and jackets. No one is better than Williams to be the poster child for collection, because besides collaborator he believes in the concept of the idea.
The boy shows that is active in the cause and the last day March 20 he was spokesman for the International Day of UN Happiness, aiming to mobilize people around the world to show solidarity with those who are already feeling the effect of climate changes.
In 2008 Williams founded the NGO “One Hand To AnOTHER” (FOHTA) in his hometown of Virginia Beach, USA. The organization works with young people 7-20 years in risk situation, supporting, challenging and preparing them for a successful future. Last year the NGO launched its first holiday camp “Summer of Innovation” in partnership with NASA and gained place within the project “Educate to Innovate” of President Barack Obama.
