The conglomerate of brands as Louis Vuitton, Céline and Dior promoted one of the most coveted competitions of the fashion world, aiming to reward the best today’s “New Designers”.

This time who pocketed the prize worth 300,000 euros was the Portuguese duo Marta Marques and Paulo Almeida who represented the brand Marques’ Almeida. In addition to the prize money the duo won an experts consulting that will help in the development of the brand, from the creative side to the bureaucratic.

Not only was the Portuguese duo who was awarded, Jacquemus won a special jury award worth 150,000 euros.

It really should not have been an easy task for the jury to choose the winners, after all among the competitors were just extremely competent designers as French Faustine Steinmetz, the duo of Caperni, the English Craig Green, Virgil Abloh, beyond of Arthur Arbesser and the Vetements of Demna Gvasalia. Among the jurors were the designer Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon between other masters of the fashion world.

What prompted the brand Marques’Almeida to the winning post was its entire collection made with jeans, which started in 2011. With shreds bars and silhouettes inspired by the “Grunge” universe, the pieces will parade on the London fashion week.
