Kim Kardashian West Passes Along Her Secret to Gravity-Defying Cleavage

If you’ve ever looked at a picture of Kim Kardashian West wearing a plunging neckline and thought, How does she do it?!, we now have the answer—and so does her sister Kylie Jenner.

The world’s most famous big sister has reportedly passed on one of the most important style lessons to the younger generation: how to use boob tape for masterful, gravity-defying cleavage. Kylie just posted a picture of herself wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline, and according to reports, she has Kim to thank for nailing the braless look.

“A lot of people tape their boobs up. People have definitely done it with duct tape,” celebrity stylist Anita Patrickson told Glamour, referencing Kardashian’s famous cleavage. “If you’re having one of those Kim K. dresses with two bands on either side [of the breasts], you want to stick the tape over the nipple, pull it up, and then stick it to the side. You’re basically giving yourself a lift.” Depending on the size of your ladies and the dress or top you’re wearing, you can trim tape to a width that will remain hidden under the garment.

If actual duct tape sounds a bit too hard-core for you, gentler options abound.

Hollywood Fashion Secrets, a company revered for simple wardrobe fixers, offers Breast Lift Tape made with hypoallergenic adhesive and suggested for cup sizes A through D. The Ultimate Bra Guide recommends surgical and sports strapping tape too, though both would only work with thicker, non-see-through garments. Regarding duct tape, they suggest looking for one that’s not billed as being super sticky and to avoid altogether if you have sensitive skin (or anticipate lots of hugging as, evidently, it can make for awkward crinkling noises).
