Danish fashion designers take the fashion fair MODEFABRIEK in Amsterdam with a joint Danish Pavilion.
The Danish Trade Council in the Netherlands, Exporthuis Regio Midtjylland and the Danish trade association clothing and textiles WEAR supported a joint export promotion at MODEFABRIEK in Amsterdam 21 and 22 January 2018. MODEFABRIEK attracts mainly people from the fashion industry in the Benelux. The export promotion therefore aims to offer the exhibitors a solid export platform and to establish contacts with potential customers in the Benelux.
The Netherlands and Belgium are important export markets for Danish fashion companies. More than 13% of Danish fashion exports go to these two countries. Danish exports of clothing and shoes to these two markets increased by 15% in 2017 compared to 2016.
Danish fashion is successful in the Netherlands
The Danish embassy in The Hague is very pleased that the fashion industry is being put in the spotlight with Danish participation in MODEFABRIEK in the Dutch capital. Ambassador Jens-Otto Horslund is looking forward to the Danish participation in this prestigious fashion fair.
“The Netherlands offers enormous potential in the field of fashion and shoes and a segment with a lot of purchasing power. If we succeed in being clearly visible at MODEFABRIEK we have the opportunity to increase the export of Danish fashion companies to the Benelux, among other things by making contact with buyers, agents and other relevant partners. We obviously hope that an export promotion by means of a joint Danish stand at a fair like FASHION FACTORY can contribute to a higher export of Danish fashion to the Dutch market “.
Smaller fashion companies should have the opportunity to export to the Netherlands
The Trade Council of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives SMEs a financial contribution within the fashion industry, which makes it possible for new companies to participate in MODEFABRIEK. Nine Danish fashion companies are part of the Danish Pavilion. At the fair various network events are offered where Danish fashion companies can network with Dutch parties.
The brands represented at the Danish Pavilion: Birgitte Herskind, Dear Denier, Druds Coveralls, Enamel, GAI + LISVA, Margit Brandt, Meotine, Mille Frydenberg and Moliin.
