We knew we’d have to face this day at some point: the conclusion of the royal tour. SOB. While Kate Middleton didn’t wear a much-anticipated gown for her finale look, she did say goodbye with a sartorial bang. (And we’re guessing coatdresses will be major for the fall.)
For the Duchess and Prince William’s visit to the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, Kate opted for a respectfully elegant tweed coatdress from the Michael Kors spring 2014 collection. (This is pretty big news in itself because it’s the first time Kate wore a piece by the American designer. Nice get, Michael!) She accessorized with a hat by Jonathan Howard, an Aussie milliner, and matching Russell & Bromley navy pumps and a clutch.
“I’m a pro at this now!”
Since it was her last day in Australia, she had to go and do this one more time.
Instead of changing into sweats for the long journey home, Kate kept the coatdress on but lost the hat. Prince George got spiffed up for the occasion in a bright red knit cardigan layered over a crisp white polo, matching shorts, and navy shoes by Early Days. Absolutely adorable.
