Gorgeous! This Designer Is Doing a Collection JUST for the Red Carpet

The red carpet gowns we see and love are typically peppered throughout a range of collections (including pre-fall—have you seen these fit-for-a-princess Reem Acra beauties?). Now Vivienne Westwood’s making it official with a Gold Label red carpet capsule collection that’s specifically aimed at stars needing looks for the upcoming awards-show season.

The designer told WWD the pieces would have “elaborate, feminine, and flowing silhouettes,” and while it’s not a departure from the label’s typical bombshell look, it’s a savvy position to take. The range previously would have been shown as a preseason lineup but is now being presented with the Oscars, Emmys, and such in mind.

For an easy sneak peek, just check out the black-and-white dress Kirsten Dunst wore at the Unbroken premiere earlier this month. It’s a short version of one of the styles.
