If you’ve noticed a whole lot of flat over-the-knee boots in the past year, you have one woman to thank: Gisele Bündchen. The supermodel starred in Stuart Weitzman’s fall 2014 campaign in a pair and basically made it all happen.
“Last season, after our campaign shoot with the thigh-high boot, Gisele said ‘What are you going to do with these shoes? Can I have these ones?’ and I said, ‘Of course,'” Stuart told me at a dinner this week to celebrate his charitable work with cancer research. “Three days later, she wore them in a park with her husband and kids and it was a paparazzi scene. She said to me, ‘You better have thousands of these, because every girl I know is going to want a pair.’ I’m not so proud as to say I can pick every great winner, but the girls can.”
Um, sorry, but my Gisele love just went through the roof. I’m personally rather in love with her (I ask myself “what would Gisele do?” on a semifrequent basis) and I’m dying that she’s such a fashion fortune teller too.
The dinner was held to celebrate Stuart’s limited-edition Legwrap sandals, proceeds from the sales of which benefit Dr. Marsha Moses’ cancer research at the Folkman Institute.
